Ice Coordinator
Qualifications:
– Ability to work well with and take direction from the CMHA Executives
– Ability to work with computers to prepare and present Excel/Word documents
– Ability to record data accurately
– Availability as to time requirements of position
– Must have strong administrative and organizational abilities
– Must have flexibility and creativity in overcoming obstacles
Job Description:
– Attend RDCK ice users meeting to secure fair ice time for CMHA – June
– Report tournament dates and any other events to RDCK to hold ice
– Work closely with RDCK for obtaining and scheduling all required ice
– Work with CMHA executive’s / division managers to establish a fair ice schedule for all teams
– Attend the West Kootenay Minor Hockey Association (WKMHA) and Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association (OMAHA) ice scheduler’s meeting (Held in Castlegar and Vernon, BC) to secure game times for all CMHA teams – September
– Provide Tournament Coordinator/Division Managers with tournaments ice slots early in season. Once schedule is complete by tournament committees; fill any empty slots if required and notify RDCK for final approval
– Monitor usage of ice times to ensure full utilization and balance the use by all teams
– Review monthly ice usage vs. monthly ice billings; advise Treasurer when ready to pay
– Block potential playoff ice with RDCK – Once CMHA is awarded playoffs confirm ice and provide available times to division manager.
– Cancel ice not required within the required 72hr RDCK cancellation period.
– Contact Ref Scheduler bi-weekly with game schedule for assigning officials. Contact as required when changes occur to the schedule
– Provide CMHA Executives with reports on the ice usage at the end of December and at the end of the year
Pay – $2600 total

Referee Scheduler
Qualifications:
– Ability to work well with and take direction from the CMHA Executives
– Ability to work with computers to prepare and present Excel/Word documents
– Ability to record data accurately
– Availability as to time requirements of position
– Must have strong administrative and organizational abilities
– Must have flexibility and creativity in overcoming obstacles
– Learn and use the current referee scheduling program (Arbiter)
Job Description:
– Maintain a list of available referees and their qualifications
– Work with the Castlegar Ref-in-chief and other West Kootenay regional referee administrators
– Coordinate club referee participation in referee courses and clinics with the Castlegar Ref-in-chief
– Meet and work with Ice Coordinator on a bi-weekly basis with game schedules / assigning officials. Contact as required when changes occur
– Assign the correct aged/ability referees to each game
– Make sure all refs are equally distributed with in their qualifications
– Maintain a master referee schedules needed for exhibition games, regular season play, post season play, or tournament; and
– Resolve schedule conflicts
– Use the scheduling program to provide referee’s name, games worked and declined
– Then, provide a report to CMHA Executives (one at the End of December and one at the end of the year)
– Strive for 100% game coverage every week
Pay – $2600 total

Goalie Coach
The goalie coach will be responsible for running the weekly goalie ice sessions (1 hour per week),
circulating through all levels/teams in CMHA (1-2 hours per week), running a pre-season camp (early
September) and potentially a winter camp (2 days).
The successful candidate is a coach or former goalie who works well with goaltenders of all ages (from
novice to midget) and all skill levels (beginner to advanced – house and rep hockey). The candidate
must be an effective communicator and very well organized. The candidate must be willing to take, or already has, Goalie Level One certification – provided through BC Hockey.
